Sports and Physical Therapy Center Sponsors 5K Team on ...

EUREKA, MO -- Missouri's annual Eureka Days celebration will take place Sept. 7-8, 2012, and the Sports and Physical Therapy Center will once again sponsor a team in the Lions Run for Sight. The walk/run event benefits the Lions Eye Care Fund.

Sean Quinn, owner of the Sports and Physical Therapy Center, is inviting all current and former patients, along with their families and friends, to join him and his staff for the Lions Run. Quinn has set a goal of signing up at least 50 people for the sponsored team, and the clinic will cover the entry fee for the first 25 members who wish to enter either the 5K run or 3K walk.

"We are proud to support our community and this great cause by celebrating Eureka Days with our staff, patients, families, and friends," said Quinn. "The Lions Run promotes physical fitness in our community, which is a big focus for us. We're hoping to sponsor our largest team ever this year, as a way of encouraging better health, as well as to thank all of our patients for making the Sports and Physical Therapy Center their choice for physical therapy services in St. Louis County."

The deadline for registration is Aug. 24.

The event takes place Sept. 8 at 8 a.m. All participants will receive a Lions Race T-shirt and goodie bag, as well as a Sports and Physical Therapy Center team T-shirt to wear in the race. Goodie bags and T-shirts will be available for pickup at the Sports and Physical Therapy Center after Sept. 6, 2012 or on the morning of the race. Team members are invited to park for free at the clinic on race day, and all participants will walk together to the race starting point.

"To prepare our team members for their run or walk, our personal trainer, Brian Joggerst, will lead everyone in a pre-race stretching session," Quinn said. "He'll teach proper stretching techniques that are designed to help runners and walkers avoid injuries."

After the Lions Run, the Sports and Physical Therapy Center will be offering team members a free breakfast and 15-minute chair massages at the clinic.
